QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. FOR ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTS :

PROFESSORS :

Essential :

Ph.D. with I class Degree at B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in the concerned branch.

EXPERIENCE:

10 years experience in teaching/Industry/Research out of which 5 years must be at the level of Asst. Professor and/or equivalent (in the appropriate branch).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE FOR CANDIDATES FROM INDUSTRY & PROFESSION

NOTE (1) : Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology with professional work which is significant can be recognised as equivalent to Ph.D. Degree and with 10 years experience of which at least 5 years should be at a Senior Level comparable to that of an Asst. Professor would also be eligible.

(2): (in the case of Computer Science/Engineering/Technology in lieu of the “ First Class Degree at Bachelor’s and Master’s Level in the appropriate branch” a First class Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/ Technology together with a First Class Bachelors Degree in any area of Engineering/Technology will also be considered)

ASSISTANT PROFESSORS :

ESSENTIAL :

Ph.D. Degree with the First Class Degree at B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology .

EXPERIENCE :

5 years experience in Teaching/Industry/Research at the level of Lecturer or equivalent.

LECTURERS :

ESSENTIAL :

First Class Bachelor’s Degree in the concerned branch of Engineering/ Technology and First Class Master’s Degree in the concerned branch of Engineering/ Technology.

(Preference will be given to candidates having Ph.D. Degree in the concerned area)

NOTE (1). For Bio-Technology: PhD or M.Tech in Bio-Technology or in a related Branch of Engineering with B.Tech in any Branch of Engineering. Candidates with M.Sc Degree followed by M.Tech and PhD in BioTechnology will be considered on the basis of Subjects studied and PhD research topics and post PhD Experience.

(2) : Candidates who at the time of their recruitment as Lecturer possess Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Engineering and Technology shall be granted 2 and 4 advance increments respectively in the Lecturer’s scale.

2. FOR PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY AND MATHEMATICS & HUMANITIES DEPARTMENTS :

PROFESSORS

Essential :

Good academic record with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA at the Master’s Level with Ph.D. in the concerned specialisation.

EXPERIENCE:

10 years experience of which at least 5 years should be at a Senior Level comparable to that of an Asst. Professor in Post Graduate teaching and /or experience in research at the University/National level institutions, including experience of guiding research at Doctor Level.

ASST. PROFESSORS :

ESSENTIAL :

Good academic record with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA at the Master’s Level with Ph.D. in the concerned specialisation.

EXPERIENCE:

5 years experience in teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, designing new courses and curricula.

LECTURERS:

ESSENTIAL :

Good academic record with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA at the Master’s Level with Ph.D. in the concerned specialisation.

NOTE: At the time of recruitment as lecturers, four and two advance increments will be admissible to those of the Science/Humanities faculty who hold Ph.D. and M.Phil. Degrees respectively.

3. FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES :

PROFESSOR :

Essential :

Ph.D. with First class Master’s Degree in Management and First Class Bachelors Degree.

EXPERIENCE:

10 years experience in Teaching/Industry/Research, out of which 5 years must be at the level of Asst. Professor and/or equivalent.

Ph.D. with First Class Master’s Degree in Management and First Class Bachelors Degree.

EXPERIENCE:

INSTRUCTIONS / INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES

1. The filled in application should be accompanied by the appropriate fee of Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- only in the case of SC/ST candidates on production of Caste Certificate) in the form of Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Director, National Institute of Technology, Warangal” payable at the State Bank of Hyderabad, N.I.T. Branch, Warangal – 506 004 or any Nationalized Bank payable at Warangal. The candidates are to send separate application and separate Demand Draft for each post, in case any candidate wishes to apply for more than one post.

2. The application with all its enclosures, securely fastened to it, should be sent by Registered Post superscribed and addressed as follows:

“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF (name of the post to be specified)”

If any applicant desires an acknowledgement he must send the application by ‘Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due’, otherwise no separate acknowledgement will be sent.

3. Applications must reach the Registrar, on or before 05.05.2008. Applications will be summarily rejected if the forms duly filled in (a) are not received within the stipulated date (b) are incomplete.

4. Persons who are in Government services or in the service of Educational Institutions or any other organizations must send their applications through their employers. If there is any procedural delay, they may send an advance copy, provided they submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of interview.

5. The applicants, when called for an interview, must appear before the Selection Committee of the Institute at the place and on the date / time specified.

6. Every application must be supported with Xerox copies of the following documents duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.

a) Evidence of date of birth viz., a certificate extract from a Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate showing the date of birth.

OR

A Certificate from University or College or School authority showing date of birth according to the University or college or School records.

b) Documents in support of claims made by the candidate in respect of his/her academic qualifications, practical training, experience etc.

c) Caste Certificate in case of Scheduled Caste/Tribes and Other Backward Classes issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Mandal Revenue Officer.

7. No person who has more than one wife living or who has married a person having already a wife living, will be eligible for appointment unless the Institute is satisfied that there are special grounds for doing so and agrees to exempt the candidate from the operation of this rule.

8. The advertisement is to be understood as merely an indication of existing vacancies or vacancies likely to arise. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any of the vacancies notified depending on the exigencies of the situation. Candidates may be offered lower posts than the posts they have applied for. The Institute also reserves the right to shortlist the applicants to be called for interview and also to fill up the consequential vacancies arising out of the selection process.

9. Reservation for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes is applicable for the post specified in the advertisement as per rules applicable to NITs as communicated by Govt. of India.
